Is it not possible to use Component connections on the tv with composite cables? I have read on other forums that this should be possible and I was able to get this working on a friends tv. I have a LG 42LM Please could someone help me.

Joined Sep 12, Messages 3, The cables are working perfectly. I have tried them and they work perfect when plugged into the first component in.
I have a feeling there is a problem the second component in as that's when I get the problems. Sinbad Honorary Master Dec 28, Joined Jun 5, Messages 61, Are you using a component out on the wii?
The two are not compatible, even though the cables are physically the same.
I am using composite. Will it not work?
Component is a completely different protocol, with red, green and blue on different cables. The yellow cable on your composite plug set is video, red and white are stereo audio.
Or do you want to connect your composite to component? Joined May 12, Messages 5, While the cables are the same, composite and component are not compatible with each other.
Component out should always go to component in, and composite out always goes to composite in. The sound plays through perfectly. The problem I have is the video is in black and white only.
